My summer as a Turner Fellow…
Howdy do y’all! My name is Stephen Cartiglia and I have the great pleasure of being paired with Barefoot Republic this summer. I have always loved camps like Barefoot and cannot wait to be out there this summer, helping kids–and learning more about myself in the process. Barefoot Republic is a not-for-profit day camp that tries to foster diverse relationships, and does a great job at it. The first couple weeks will be at Amy Grant’s farm, before rotating throughout the Nashville area to various churches around. They provide a safe place for children to go during the day in the summer when they do not have school to occupy their time and their parents work, which is invaluable to many communities around Nashville.
